A Word From The Publisher
NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
I don’t normally print a national story on page one, but when you look at the mess that our nation is in and the rash of terrorism acts perpetrated by our own citizens, I believe more than ever that we MUST turn back to God. Thus, the front page story for this month is about the National Day of Prayer, May 2.
TOUGH MONTH
May is going to be a tough month for me, after the loss of Linda. First, we have Mother’s Day. While Linda and I did not have children together, we had 4 children between us. Linda lost her middle child almost 4 years ago and she never recovered. Throughout our marriage, I always gave Linda a Mother’s Day card. As I was going through her things, I found that she had kept every one of them.
Then we have Memorial Day. Linda loved Memorial day and she (usually, we) made a trip to about 15 cemeteries in North-central Kansas where she placed flowers. Some of the people died over 100 years ago, but her daddy started this practice and Linda kept the practice in his memory. I accused her of having relatives buried in every cemetery in Kansas. Yes, I will place flowers on Linda’s grave in Mankato this year.
I encourage you to CONTINUE to pray for our nation, and for our leaders. Pray that they will have the courage and wisdom to return us to "One nation under God," and that our laws can be changed back to reflect the Christian principles which led us for some 200 years. VIRTUAL TOUR OF ISRAEL
